Teresa Shea
Chief Operations Officer
As the Chief Operations Officer at Griffin Distribution Partners, Teresa brings over twenty years of leadership excellence in operations, compliance, and advisor support. Her career is long distinguished with a track record of strengthening organizational infrastructure, elevating advisor performance, and enterprise growth.
Teresa began her professional career after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), followed by advisory roles at Edward Jones and Lincoln Financial.
In 2012, she earned her Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioner (CFP®) designation and Series 24 license, assuming responsibility for advisor operations as a sub-OSJ. Under her guidance, the firm achieved national recognition for excellence in sales performance and advisor recruiting.
Following this success, Teresa advanced into a role supporting the firm’s highest-producing advisors and key client relationships. Her operational acumen and oversight were essential during the organization’s move to full independence in 2015, a transition in which she played a central role. Upon forming the newly independent entity, Teresa was appointed Chief Operations Officer.
As COO at Griffin, Teresa oversees all aspects of operational strategy, regulatory supervision, advisor service models, and organizational efficiency. She leverages her extensive industry knowledge and long-standing carrier relationships to deliver exceptional value to advisors and their clients. Her colleagues and industry peers regard her professionalism, reliability, and commitment to serving others.
Teresa resides in Wake Forest, NC, with her husband, Sean, and their five children. Outside of the office, Teresa supports Comfort Zone Camp, a nonprofit helping children heal from grief through trust-building activities and age-based support. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family in North Carolina and Florida.
